In 2016, my neighbour and I saw an ad for Get Into Golf and decided to give it a go. The lessons were excellent, we were all hooked and became firm friends. The longer established members were fantastic, they gave up their time to practise with us and introduced us to other members. It’s the best thing I ever did.
A member of Hollystown for 25 years before its closure, I had also been playing here for a number of years. I live locally and felt it inevitable that I would join Black Bush. 12 ex-Hollystown members have also made the same journey. The advantage of 27 holes, how friendly the members were, basically a home from home.
My reasons for joining Get Into Golf were to learn a new hobby, get exercise and meet new people. Attending with players of similar ability made lessons enjoyable and not daunting. A fantastic introduction to a new sport. Joining has been a great decision. I made friends and find the whole club friendly and supportive.
