Captain John Creagh welcomes you to the Men’s Section of the Black Bush Golf Club website. The Club is well into its new governance structure and I am delighted to say we are already seeing significant benefits from the more streamlined operations.
This year we seem to be relaxing with Covid-19, we are very hopeful that this year will see a more normal golfing year from now on. The club has a schedule of events this year to suit all standards of golfer. Our mid-week Open Competitions are designed to attract golfers of all ages and abilities. On Mondays we have our Bunnies (18+ Handicap) and Blue Mondays (lower Handicaps). Tuesdays on the Men’s calendar, we have our very popular 9 hole Swinging 60’s, the title says it all. On Wednesdays and Thursdays there are singles stableford competitions, with Thursday being a seniors (over 50’s) competition.
Our weekend competitions are a mixture of Singles and Team Competitions. Except for our Majors and golfer of the year competitions most of our other singles are open competitions. Team Competitions in Black Bush have proved to be very popular over the years. The combination of our excellent parkland course, high quality catering and a very friendly atmosphere all makes for a great day out. Our Friday evening social golf also offers an opportunity for both golfers and non-golfers to come together for our “Nine and Dine” experience.
The Black Bush is very proud to host a number of charity events throughout the year including the very popular “County Colours Day” in aid of the Gary Kelly Cancer Centre in late August.
The Club is looking forward to a more normal year on the inter-club scene. We have entered all the usual competitions and our team managers are in place and ready to commence pre match preparations.
Golf clubs are in a unique position in these strange times allowing people to participate in a very healthy outdoor activity. The Black Bush is better placed than most clubs in that we can offer additional casual golf with our 27 hole layout.
The Captains are looking forward to seeing all golfers out enjoying all the excellent facilities we have here in Black Bush.
John Creagh, Club Captain
