Lady Captain Ann O’Neill welcomes you to the Black Bush Ladies Section of our website.

Black Bush Ladies Club has over 200 members with a very large number of very active ladies playing weekly in the many competitions on offer.

On Mondays there is a Nifty Fifties 9 hole competition which runs right through the year. This is a very popular competition.

Tuesday is our main competition day. The competitions vary between singles, team events and some foursomes/fourball events. There are 10 Golfer of the Year competitions and we have 8 medal competitions which are a much coveted achievement.

On Thursdays there is another 9 hole competition running from April through to September. This is called the Red Thursdays and since its inception last year has proved to be very popular.

Saturdays and Sundays are very busy in the club with the gents having their main competitions, but there is room for the ladies also when a singles competition is run on Saturdays and Sundays, except when a team event is taking place.

On 9th May this year we will run our second ‘Golf Into Light’ in conjunction with the Darkness into Light walks which take place around the country for Pieta House. This proved to be a really popular initiative last year so we hope to repeat its great success once again.

Our Interclub teams are very active and managed by a very dedicated team of managers. We enter into all of the AIG ILGU competitions plus the Boyne Trophy which caters for ladies over 50! And the Mary McKenna Trophy which is reserved for the over 60’s! We also enter the Irish Mixed and North Leinster Mixed competitions. There is a great atmosphere around all our teams, and great fun getting the practices in to try to make the teams!

Our Challenge Cup Team got to the Finals of the East Leinster District in the K Club in 2019 so we are hoping to go even further in 2020 and hopefully take home a much desired pennant for the club!

This year we are delighted to be hosting the Qualifiers for the Ladies Senior Cup which is a great honour and we very much look forward to welcoming all of the clubs taking part on the day.

The Club has also been chosen as the venue for the golf competition for the European Transplant Games which is also a great honour.

Our Social Committee are also very active and doing their very best to bring us very enjoyable nights out that just get us together without golf as a focus. We are very lucky to have Harmony Catering in the club and this makes all events so enjoyable, who doesn’t enjoy a lovely meal and entertainment for an evening.

The motto of our club is Sport agus Cairdeas – and we feel that we really do live by our motto – our club is a very friendly and welcoming club.
