Lady Captain Ann O’Neill welcomes you to the Black Bush Ladies Section of our website.

Black Bush Ladies Club has almost 200 members with a very large number of very active ladies playing weekly in the many competitions on offer.

During the past year we have been hugely affected by Covid restrictions, as the whole world has been affected also. As golf returns we will look forward to having our competitions up and running as soon as we are allowed to, depending on Government guidelines.

The competitions on offer to ladies are as follows -

Competition Day Details
Monday Nifty Fifties
Tuesday Ladies main competition day.  The competitions vary between singles, team events and some four ball competitions. Normally there are 10 Golfer of the Year competitions and we have 8 medal competitions. To win a medal is a much coveted achievement.
Thursday We run a 9 hole competition on Thursdays from April through to September.  This is the Red Thursday competition, a very popular addition to the calendar.  The ladies can also take part in our 18 hole Senior Competition which is an Open competition.
Weekends Both Saturday and Sunday are busy days in the club with the gents having their main competitions on those days.  There are competitions for ladies on both days at the weekend including an alternate day for most Tuesday competitions.  There won’t be a singles competition if there is a team event happening.

Our Interclub teams are always very active and are managed by a very dedicated team of ladies. We enter all of the AIG Golf Ireland competitions plus the Boyne Trophy which caters for ladies over 50! We also enter two mixed competitions, The Irish Mixed and the North Leinster Mixed. There is always a great atmosphere around all of our teams and everyone puts in a huge effort to try to make the teams.

Our Social Committee are a very active group, doing their very best to bring us very enjoyable nights out that get us together without golf as a focal point. They also run a social golf evening on a Friday from May to the end of August and for the winter a social event takes place every Sunday.

We are very lucky to have Harmony Catering in Black Bush. We are looking forward to having them open up very soon again to look after us in their truly warm and welcoming way.

The motto of our club its Sport agus Cairdeas - we feel that we really do live by our motto - our club is a very friendly and most welcoming club.
